Achieve trusted, more audit-ready casual staffing

The directory Australian NDIS providers use to check workers before the shift — not after the incident.

Built for Australian NDIS providers

The gap

Unfamiliar casuals are a compliance risk.

NDIS providers do not lack workers. They lack a way to trust the ones they have not met — without becoming an employer of record or a licensed labour-hire firm.

  • References take days

A new casual arrives with a PDF resume. The last supervisor is on leave. The house still needs cover tonight.

  • Labour hire is a licence

Agencies that supply labour carry licensing, on-costs, and a cut of every hour. Most providers just needed a trusted list.

  • Wages create SG risk

Platforms that pay workers inherit superannuation and employment questions. Sylena never holds or disburses shift pay.

Reference engine

A two-minute reference that stands up in an audit.

Passive resumes become an auditable trust profile. Providers stop chasing old supervisors. Workers stop waiting a week to be believed.

Step 1 of 5

Reference request

The worker enters a past supervisor — name, work email, facility, mobile. Disposable webmail is flagged. Corporate addresses receive a Verified Employer badge.

Live directory

Search verified workers. Book independently.

This is a sample of the Victorian directory. Open a profile, read the reference summary, and download the dossier format providers file for audits. Contact and wages stay off the platform.

    Pricing

Software subscriptions. Not a cut of wages.

Two-sided B2B billing. Emergency shift pins are $25 for 48 hours. Worker spotlights are $15 for seven days. No escrow. No commission.

      Questions

      Asked before the first shift.

      Are you a labour-hire company?

No. Sylena is a software directory and compliance platform. Providers and workers connect and negotiate independently. We never supply labour, never run payroll, and never hold shift wages in escrow.

Why does that matter for superannuation?

Superannuation Guarantee obligations sit with the legal employer or the party that pays personal labour. Because Sylena never disburses wages, the platform is designed to carry no SG liability. This is an operating model, not legal advice — confirm with your advisor.

      What about Victorian labour-hire licensing?

Pure advertising job boards and self-serve directories that let parties connect independently do not “supply” labour to a host under the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2018 (Vic). Sylena is built to stay on that side of the line.

How do you keep references honest?

Work emails are prioritised; Gmail and Hotmail are flagged. We log IP, device, and location. If a referee’s IP matches the candidate’s, the reference is marked for review. Dates of engagement are a required field.

      What NDIS checks are required?

Workers cannot publish a listing or contact a provider until an NDIS Worker Screening Database clearance is logged. WWCC, first aid, and police checks can be uploaded and parsed into the trust profile.

Can I put this in an audit file?

Yes. Growth and Enterprise providers can view the full reference audit log and download a one-page Reference Certificate with a cryptographic timestamp for internal NDIS files.

      Where do you launch?

Australia-wide product. The first cohort is Victorian providers and workers. The same verification engine already logs NDIS screening, WWCC, first aid, and police checks, and is built to add AHPRA, trade licences, and other checks as we open adjacent shortage sectors.

      Australian waitlist

Start with the providers who cannot afford a bad casual.

Join the first cohort of Australian NDIS providers and verified workers. Seats are limited so onboarding and screening stay tight.

      Request access

The Australian waitlist is invite-only. Tell us which side of the directory you sit on.

      You’re on the list.

Australian providers and workers are being admitted in small cohorts. We’ll email you when a seat opens.
